POTD!!!

Before you get all worked up about the title of this post (Naturey Crap) I must disclaim that I do not think this stuff is crap. It is just the title of a Flickr group I belong to and it is a useful description of this post. The usage of the word “crap” in this post should be thought of as a substitute for the word “stuff” and not thought of as a substitute for the word “bad”. Thank you.

I’m not really certain why but I have been fascinated with the way the sunlight affects the way things look.

Today I began the process of fixing the mess the thieves left me with. First stop: DMV. I was prepared for a frustrating process that involved lines, forms, and a bad photograph. I was pleasantly surprised to be first in line as soon as they opened and to be out the door less than 15 minutes after I had pulled into the parking lot. Unheard of. Pretty sure the photo was still crap though.
Next; wait for the insurance to call me between the hours of 9 and 12. Yeah, that never happened. I called them and left a message. Guess what? Nothing. Phone tag with MY insurance company. fun. Thanks for that insurance company.
Next – glass. It was all over my backseat, floor, and front seat. Also, as you can see I had a nice window alternative thing going for a few days there. As much as I enjoyed the garbage bag/duct tape combination I was afraid to park my car anywhere public. I called a few places and found a place that was a: reasonably priced (reasonable considering I wasn’t expecting to have to pay for a new window) and b: could come to my office and get the glass replaced today. As sad as I was to peel away the duct tape I am very grateful for the Mobile Glass company that fixed it.

We went to the flea market today to search the wares and see if anything that was mine would turn up. It didn’t. Not sure what i expected but this was not it. I have been to a few markets as a kid but this was something completely different and unique to me. I did not know you could buy a new washer and dryer at a flea market. Now I know. I also did not know you could buy underwear at a flea market. Now I know.
This photo was taken at a part of the market that burned down recently due to an electrical fire.

My car was broken into on Saturday, October 24 at St Edwards park in Austin. The person took my purse which contained a hard drive. The hard drive contained photographs of mine from June 2009 until October 23, 2009. Unfortunately this means that I cannot post the photos of the day for October 20-23. I am pissed off.
If you live in Austin and come across a black, portable WD passport hard drive for sale can you please contact me? It would mean the world to me to get that drive back as it contains some very important images that I do not have copies of.

I took ASKB on a grand adventure hike today. It was his first time to go to this spot and I wanted to make sure it was special for him. He swam, ran, ate suspicious things, and attacked innocent pieces of driftwood. I did not partake in most of the above activities but thoroughly enjoyed watching him have his fun. I did learn a new ASKB fact though; he does not like being under a bridge when there are cars driving over it. Kind of tweaks him out a bit.
