POTD!!!
My friend Hunter and I are hanging some pictures in a local bakery and I had to get them ready tonight (Hunter’s is the cool photo in the lower right corner – you can see the original here). I think they came out pretty well. Michelle, who owns the bakery, basically gave us free license to hang whatever we want on a wall in the shop. The plan is to change out the photos every few months to keep people interested so for the spring months we chose photos with bright colors. Pretty exciting stuff.
KC POTD!!! (bonus post because she’s cute)

Please pay no attention to the messy living room
She stole my orange. Or I threw it to her and she caught it. Whichever version of story works for you.
MPOTD!!!
I just happened upon Matt walking in the field behind the office…Or maybe he was posing…
KC POTD!!!

notice the destroyed toys behind her to the left...
This is what KC looked like as a puppy. Freakin adorable. I didn’t know her back then – when I met her she was 80lbs of love and fur. She still has that same expression (the “Love me, pet me, cuddle me” one) and she still destroys her toys. Fortunately we no longer have to crate her. I think her feet are the same size though…

This is a photograph that I’m painting over. It will end up hanging in a bakery in Austin as “art”. Now, I am having trouble with this particular piece because I have been staring at it for too long and I’m getting blurry around the edges of what I like and don’t like. I will not impart my judgment on you folks – I’d rather you decide for yourself. So here are a few more shots from the process. You can see the original image here. I have always loved this shot. The original was shot with a Digital Canon Rebel (one of the first released ones I think) and was all pure natural lighting. The tulip was in a vase that was placed in front of a colorful painting I had done specifically to be used as a background in photographs. The colors all just worked so wonderfully together and I was so pleased with the final photo. I also shot it in film and used it in my final portfolio for my color film class. This was about 7 years ago. I think I still have the painting somewhere in my parents attic. The tulip is dead.
MPOTD, KCPOTD, and notPOTD!!!
I know that phone pictures are supposed to be crap and are looked down upon by some of the elite (i don’t know who the elite are but I imagine they wear diamonds a lot). I am personally pretty happy with the way my phone takes pictures. It will definitely be more convenient to pull my phone out for a quick snapshot than lets say a humongous DSLR that has to have the correct lens and ISO and aperture and shutter speed and spot metering. Sigh. Issues. But back to my phone. I am so happy with it. It brings me great joy and infinite happiness.

We took Aaron and Cheryl into downtown Austin to show them what it looks like in the daytime. I must say that the day did not fail us. It was gorgeous. We packed as many activities (stepbrother reference…) into the day as we possibly could. It was perfect. Also, If someone wants to buy me a condo in this building or any of the new ones downtown you can. Preferably one that faces the sun. Thanks.

KC has about 100 toy pieces strategically placed around the house
KC was excited that we had some company staying with us this weekend. When she gets excited she goes to her toy basket and starts to pull out all of her toys. Well, very few of her toys are actual objects. She mostly has “pieces” of things. There’s the gorilla arm, the santa body, the polar bear butt, the left end of a rope, the face of a moose… you get the idea. At least I hope you get the idea because I really don’t feel like doing a full inventory of stuffed animal body parts.

It was actually freezing when I took this...
I am not a morning person by nature. I am a morning person by necessity. Saturday morning I had to get up at the ungodly hour of 7:30 (what?! it was the WEEKEND) and take my car to get an oil change. Long story short: Hyundai forgot to do my oil change 3 weeks ago so they said to come in whenever and they would do it for free; end shortened long story. To get there I decided to take the scenic route (meaning there are actual trees and naturey crap). I stopped for a split second to capture this lit up bike path and road because it was so warm and peaceful looking. Relax and enjoy…

I had to climb on the roof to check for hail damage this past Saturday. Since I carry my camera with me everywhere I decided to have some fun while “working”. ha ha. working. I climbed around on the roof taking pictures and almost forgot to check for the damage. There was no damage by the way. Yay! The miniature people sitting with KC are Todd’s brother Aaron and his wife Cheryl. They came to visit KC (oh, and us) for the weekend all the way from Boston. I was so glad that the sun decided to stop being such a diva and make an appearance. It’s really hard to rub it in that Austin is so much warmer than Boston when it is 40 degrees outside.
POTD!!!
Another big storm blew through Austin Friday morning. We were all slightly freaked out because of the rumors of another hail storm that was on its way. Luckily it turned out to be nothing more than blackened sky and really hard, saturating rain. I went out afterwards and took some close ups of the flowers. I had to bump up the ISO because it was still dark outside but I think a little noise never hurt anyone…
KC POTD!!!
The big storm had just blown through and then the sun broke out and the sky turned bright blue. It was still cold and windy but KC could have cared less. She was just loving the outside and refused to go back in several times. Turkey butt.
I have just received some company today – Todd’s brother and sister-in-law are staying through the weekend. I’ll try to keep up but as you all know from last time that probably won’t occur. [Insert big grin ...----->here].
POTD!!! (featuring NOAH!!!)
My sister called me up tonight and said I should come take some cool pictures through the windshield of her car. Normally not an exciting idea but considering that her windshield received some wicked (word of the day) hail damage yesterday I jumped in my car and raced over to her house before the sun set. I took some artsy shots and some fun shots (guess which this is…).
KC POTD!!! (and kind of sort of MPOTD!)
Matt just has this weird power over KC… Also I got to play with the new studio ring flash. I already forgot it’s name but it was wicked. (Wicked in a good way; like “wicked pissa”)
